The essence of SISSEL EDELBO is the reuse of ancient mixed silk saris, the result of great love for Indian culture.
Buying your clothes or accessories means supporting a bright and sustainable future for the fashion industry and the world.
Each piece tells the story of Indian heritage and its incredible women, dressed in traditional and colorful saris. They mix prints and mystery with a simple Nordic cut, so our clients can choose sustainable clothes and facilitate the continuity of the saris story.
All her designs are made with clean saris, recycled with a silk blend.
SISSEL EDELBO is owned and co-directed by: Jeanne Sissel Thomsen and Christina Edelbo Petersen.
They have used their middle names to create the fashion brand SISSEL EDELBO, which is the result of the two women's passion for foreign culture and clothing.
All styles are produced in India, a country that the two owners find immensely rich in cultural history and hospitality, and a true inspiration in their work.
Since 2004 they have been traveling to India to personally choose saris for their sustainable collections.
Each model is unique and different, both in quality and fabric. No two models are the same.
His vision is to produce unique pieces made from beautiful vintage saris and add new life and use to a traditional cultural fabric through modern cuts and silhouettes.
Reusing these old saree fabrics is also a form of production that is environmentally friendly.
Each of the sari used in the SISSEL EDELBO collections is carefully selected to obtain the correct patterns and colors for your garments.
For Jeanne Sissel Thomsen and Christina Edelbo Petersen it is a great honor to see their unique clothing worn by today's women and SISSEL EDELBO prides itself on its modern translation and transformation of a traditional garment.
